Portuguese is Romance Language
Portuguese is one of the five modern Romance languages, together with Spanish, French, Italian and Romanian. It was originated in what is now Galicia (Spain) and northern Portugal from the Latin spoken by Romanized Pre-Roman peoples of the Iberian Peninsula, about 2000 years ago.

Abaporu (from Tupi-Guaraní language ‘aba’, ‘pora’, and ‘u’, "the man that eats people") is a painting in oil on canvas by Brazilian painter Tarsila do Amaral, painted in 1928 as a birthday gift to the Brazilian writer Oswald de Andrade, her husband at the time. Today it is the most valued Brazilian painting in the world, reaching the value of $1.5 million.
