Brazilian Film on Thursdays at BEA

"BRAZILIAN FILM ON THURSDAYS" - BEA (Brazilian Endowment for the Arts), is a non-profit institution and every Thursday will exhibit Brazilian films with the aim to promote Brazilian filmmaking and have discussion sessions after the films. Speakers: Guilherme Parreiras and Micki Mihich. Curated by filmmaker Ivy Goulart, the project brings to the audience classic, independent and successful Brazilian films. Free admission. April 9: Tropa de Elite (Elite Squad)- Elite Squad: Two childhood friends decide to enlist in Rio de Janeiro’s Military Police Department. After juggling their police jobs and college, both make up their minds to try out for a Special Operations Squad whose mission is to take down the drug- lords that plague the city.
