Improving your Vocabulary


If you want to broaden your vocabulary, you should read some Portuguese every day. When you discover a word or phrase that you don't know (or you think sounds cool) then you should write it down in a small vocabulary notebook that you can carry around with you at all times.

If you are on a bus, taking a walk, having a coffee, anytime at all, you can look at your new phrases and recall how they were used. If you do this repeatedly (research has shown that you need to remind yourself of a new word 6 times before it enters into your long-term memory) then you will have that new vocab for life!
